Living Upwards

Are you turning your world upside down?

PTART.WORKS

Sometimes
in order to live upwards
we must fall downwards
like drips
running off the canvas
of time and space
we must allow
ourselves to run
unfettered
with gravity’s pull
and when we reach the edge
we must allow
ourselves to dry
resting
simply breathing
on the beach of emptiness
as we dream at the borders
of infinity
only to renew ourselves
once again
by turning the canvas
upside down.

When asked today in my Magic Mirror Challenge about the message I want to espouse, I am forced to think long and hard about it. There are so many pat answers I could give, but if I am living true to my word I want to go deeper than all the platitudes that have been already said.

If I could put this painting and it’s meaning into a message that would perhaps carry, and give new perspective it would be…

Enter Into A Win Win: The Dual of Opposites

I can choose
How to live
One choice at a time
The possibilities are
As endless as my Imagination.

Without it
I perish in a lose lose
With my own mind
Seeing me in limited terms
AKA the training of the world.

Expand beyond this limit
Smack down the walls
Which are largely invisible
Don’t need to bruise your knuckles
But you may have to sidestep yourself
Or even to escape over barbed wire
To your freedom
That was always your destiny.

Live life in battle with yourself
And forget the others
But remember them in your kind thoughts
That is the only remedy for entropy.

Be your own politic
Be your own leader
Be your own immigrant
And let yourself into
Your own life
Now and forever
Seek joy first
And love like a river.

Inspired by the words of Tai Lopez

A New Freedom

Through dreamy landscapes
Mind travels
Between god
And the sky
My spirit revels
In new found freedom
Thought flight
Now safe
The barbed wire gone
No longer am I snagged
Upon the electric strands
Of fear
That held me
For so long.

Sparkle! Pure Vibrance We Are…

Something to want
the jewel, the single piece
that shines like Diamant
in the sun
but fits like a glove
with no irritation
gleams prismatic light drops
on to the wall of my room
where I take refuge in my words.

Sparkle!

I want to glint
in sun ray penetrating
your darkness
those lost in violent worlds
should wear bright jewels
and yellow cloth
remembering we are all
bright inside
pure vibrance at our core
forever.

Infinite Kindness/The Explorer of Worlds

What are we?
a miracle of complexity
what other creature
can see beyond itself
into the stars?

Illuminating universes
for one another
we crave to help
so we may ALL live in peace.

Get over it
you angry ones
illusion in which
you are caught
blinds you
to the existence
of brothers and sisters
from outside of your time.

They talk of us
as distant strangers
how we do strange
and unusual things

We are but as myths
and we must continue
to penetrate their worlds
with infinite kindness.

(I saw Sue Perkins bowing with such reverence to the group of women from the Singapore jungle)

The quicker you go
the less you will know.

Slowly and with care
let us strive for excellence.

The Yin & The Yang

Blending lemons and limes
its a rhythm thing
seems that when I’m
In the vein of truth
there is endless time.

I am not a writer
I can’t be for
I have no pen;
only this on in my drawer.

Who am I ignoring?
who am I trying not to be
that I am?
oh its me
it’s that old thing again.

When I get stoned
out of my mind
it’s a bit like dying
it always was, for me…
not everyone had that
reaction.

Unbalanced (just playing how I felt; scared)
Full of fear (terrified of what I thought was)

I found my pen
at last.

FINE ART GICLEE PRINTS & ORIGINAL CANVASSES
a bare tree about to burst into life photo by phoebe thomasson

I Once Believed

…that you were better than me
…that you had it easier than me
…that you worked harder than me
…that you had something I did not
…that we were worlds apart

then…

I looked inside
and found my best
was good enough
that I too had it easier
than those before me
that I too worked hard
that I too had something special
that we stood beside each other
traveling companions
not enemies.

Poet

I dream of standing
speaking my words
from soul song
into your eyes,
direct line
from mine;
channels open
beneath me
is my heart,
throbbing
lust into my words.

I dream of standing
alone in the void
uncluttered
at ease,
a million to one
chance of
survival
embodied,
emboldened
by you
and you
joined.

What am I doing?
here it is again
that 'run out' feeling
where am I?
escaping to
the inner countryside
where my cottage in the sun
waits patiently
for me
to flee
the city's gravity.

Its ok
I'm fine!
my feet firmly planted
this time,
this song
all mine.

I rival her
but with a twist
for rivalry
is not really my style at all
is there something I've missed?
It's more of a sharing
a collective bean-bag of thought
each thought is a tiny polystyrene bead
like quick silver
it weight something
is highly toxic (to most)
and endlessly alluring

only the experience
need apply
for the position
'poet'.
