Projects that expand the mind if you stare at them

My series of paintings called ‘One Hundred Days’ or ‘Boundaries’ is the inspiration for using art as a tool of meditation and contemplation. Here are some observations I’ve made.

If you use a red light at night, some paintings change colour into shades you’ve never seen before…

I use yellow lines of paint to create contrast…they look great in a moonlit room…

Using reflective mediums makes the painting more interesting and the viewing angle will change more frequently to catch the light…

There is nothing like having a real painting on canvas on the wall…you can really appreciate the textures….

You can build up rapport with a painting over time…just like with a person…it’s a kind of relationship…it’s quite comforting…
